Overview

The action takes place in Buryatia during the Great Patriotic War. Peasants hand over their horses to the Soviet Army. It's hard to part with friends. One old man, the owner of a white horse, is especially upset. The captain who receives the horses leaves it for the needs of the military recruitment office. He wants at least one horse from this village to return to its owner after the war.
