João Pedro Ramos Pereira

João Pedro Ramos Pereira is a Brazilian filmmaker interested in the relationships between memory, identity, history, and resistance. Driven by a passion for cinema, he sees filmmaking as a way to explore the human experience, preserve stories, and give a voice to perspectives that often remain on the margins of traditional narratives. As the filmmaker behind *Além da Aparência, Nossa Persistência*, João Pedro develops a perspective centered on the appreciation of Brazilian history and cultural heritage, exploring the marks left by the past and the forms of resistance that endure across generations. His artistic interests include screenwriting, directing, cinematography, and visual storytelling, with particular attention to the power of images, the creation of atmosphere, and cinema's ability to communicate emotions without explicitly explaining them. His creative ambitions are guided by the pursuit of an original cinematic language, committed to stories that inspire reflection and remain in the audience's memory. For João Pedro, cinema is not merely a way of telling stories, but also a means of understanding the world, questioning its contradictions, and revealing what lies beyond appearances.
